QMask Licenses and Terms

The terms that govern the wallet, the software development kits it is built on, and the open components it includes.

01Overview

These terms describe how QMask is provided and the licences that apply to the software and the materials on this website. QMask is the self custody, post-quantum wallet for the Quantova network.

By installing or using the wallet, you agree to use it in line with these terms and with the law that applies to you. If you do not agree, please do not use the wallet.

02The wallet licence

QMask is provided to you as a tool for holding and using assets on the Quantova network. You are granted a personal, non exclusive, non transferable and revocable right to install and use the wallet for that purpose.

You may not misrepresent the origin of the software, remove notices, or present a modified build as an official release.

03Self custody and your responsibility

You keep full control and full responsibility for the keys and the assets the wallet manages. Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore access, and only you hold it.

No one, including Quantova, can recover a lost recovery phrase or reverse a transaction you have signed. Keep your recovery phrase private and stored safely offline.

04Quantova software development kits

The wallet is built on Qweb3.js and the Quantova post-quantum software development kits, which provide signing with the NIST approved schemes, the q_* interface and access to the Quantova Virtual Machine. Where those components are published with their own licence terms, those terms govern any separate use you make of them in your own projects.

05Open source components

QMask includes open source software supplied by third parties. Each such component remains under its own licence, and those licences continue to apply to that component. The relevant notices and licence texts are distributed with the source of the project and are acknowledged with gratitude to their authors.

06Acceptable use

You agree to use QMask lawfully. You are responsible for meeting any tax and regulatory duties that apply to your use of digital assets in your jurisdiction.

07Prohibited use

You must not use QMask to facilitate activity that is illegal where you are, to infringe the rights of others, to attempt to break or bypass the security of the wallet or the network, or to interfere with the post-quantum signing path. You must not present an unofficial build as official.

08Third party applications

When you connect QMask to an application, such as the Quantova development environment or another service, that application is operated by a separate party under its own terms. QMask only shares what you approve and never your keys. You are responsible for reviewing the applications you choose to connect to.

09Network fees

Transactions on Quantova carry a network fee that is paid in the native asset QTOV and is set by the network, not by us. You are responsible for holding sufficient balance to cover the fee of any transaction you submit.

10Trademarks

QMask, Quantova and the related names and logos are marks of their owner. These terms do not grant you any right to use those marks except as needed to refer accurately to the product, and never in a way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.

11No warranty

The wallet is provided on an as available basis and without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. While QMask is built to be quantum secure and is reviewed for security, no software can be guaranteed free of every fault.

12Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the providers of QMask are not liable for loss arising from your use of the wallet, including loss of assets resulting from a lost recovery phrase, a transaction you approved, or interaction with a third party application. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

13Risk disclosure

Holding and using digital assets carries risk, including the risk of total loss. Prices can move sharply, transactions are final, and you alone control your keys. QMask is designed to remove the cryptographic risk posed by quantum computers, but it cannot remove market risk or the consequences of your own actions.

14Changes

We may update the wallet and these terms as the product develops or as the law requires. When we change these terms, we will revise the date shown on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
